The only VDA-certified manufacturer of AdBlue® diesel engine exhaust fluid in the Baltics SIA CrossChem opened a plant in the Silesian region of southern Poland on May 21. The plant has a capacity of 8.4 million AdBlue® liters per month, which is the most powerful plant ever built by CrossChem in the world.
The equipment required for the production of AdBlue® was manufactured in Latvia within three months and was installed, tested and commissioned in Poland for the same period of time. The AdBlue® plant covers 1,500 square meters and a team of three people can produce 400 tons of AdBlue® per day.
The AdBlue® production system created in Latvia is one of the most technologically advanced in the world, providing CrossChem significant competitive advantages and flexibility for the company’s future development – within three months with minimal resources you can start AdBlue® production anywhere in the world. AdBlue® production is a complex process that requires high responsibility, accuracy and knowledge, as well as continuous process control. In addition, the process must be rapid to ensure large-scale production of the product. The CrossChem production system ensures maximum AdBlue® quality, which is confirmed by the accreditation of the German car industry association VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie).
“Opening each new factory is a balanced and sustainable step for the company – instead of transporting our products thousands of kilometers away, we are creating an innovative and efficient factory where there is demand. Poland is not only one of the largest European countries, but also a very important transport hub. By opening one of the most powerful plants in Europe in Poland, we plan to supply most of Poland with our AdBlue®. A presence in the region, which is actually Europe’s transport and logistics hub, is our guarantee to reduce harmful emissions, ”said Richard Anderson, Chairman of the Board of CrossChem.
About AdBlue®:
AdBlue® is a diesel fuel additive that significantly reduces the release of harmful car exhaust emissions into the environment, neutralizing about 98% of all nitrogen oxides (NOx) from diesel engines in harmless nitrogen and water vapor. AdBlue® can be used in vehicles equipped with a selective catalytic reduction system (SCR).
In the coming decades, diesel will be the most cost-effective fuel for freight, agricultural and utilities sectors, so AdBlue® is one of the ways in which the industry can move globally towards the goals set by the European Green Course in reducing harmful emissions.
