In February this year, CrossChem International’s Hong Kong subsidiary received accreditation from the German Association of the Automotive Industry VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie), allowing it to start manufacturing AdBlue® diesel exhaust fluid and certifying that the product produced there meets the highest standards.
This subsidiary started its operations in Hong Kong SAR in 2016 with the aim of providing the East Coast with CrossChem products. In November 2019, the decision was taken to invest in an AdBlue® production facility to provide the region with a locally produced product. The facility started operations in February 2022, following accreditation by the VDA. This is the newest AdBlue® plant of CrossChem, with a capacity of 1.5 million litres of AdBlue® per month. The plant is efficient and fully automated – with integrated quality control and the ability to remotely manage and track every node of the plant.
Jack Kwan, Director of CrossChem Hong Kong emphasizes: “The AdBlue® production facility specially developed for us by CrossChem in Latvia, is unique and particularly suited to our region, as land in Hong Kong is scarce and very expensive. The VDA licence confirms that significant investment has been made to ensure the quality of AdBlue® production is up to standard and that CrossChem’s Hong Kong distribution chains have been tested. VDA monitors the compliance of diesel exhaust fluid manufacturers worldwide and audits each production site every 3 years. We are very proud and grateful to the CrossChem Latvia team for their great trust, support and work together.”
“CrossChem has been building up its product expertise since 2009, when it opened its first plant in Latvia. We are delighted to have successfully internationalised the company, offering our products in more than 50 countries worldwide. Every day, we carry out analysis and countless tests to confirm that a world-class product is produced in each of our 15 factories,” says Ričards Andersons, Chairman of the Management Board of CrossChem.
